The aim of your family portrait session is to capture amazing photos of your family. You can have them featured throughout your home as pieces of art. Josh’s sessions have this in mind; to create works of art of the ones you love most.
Each session will include time with your family focused on natural portraits as well as candid moments of interaction. Josh’s goal is to create a comfortable atmosphere. He wants your family to feel at ease and able to express themselves. The photos you receive are a wonderful way to capture and cherish the love and connection that your family enjoys.

Before the Photo Session
At your initial meeting, Josh will walk you through his process and take the time to hear your ideas and what you have envisioned for your family photos.
He has a detailed checklist that he uses to record all the essential information and what is most important to you.
Ideally, he’ll take a tour of your home and brainstorm portrait ideas, taking into consideration your decor and style. This will aid in giving him a sense of what you are aiming for at your photo session.
Your Portrait Photo Session
Whether Josh is shooting at your home, on location or in studio family portraits, his first priority is the comfort of your family. He first creates a safe environment to make sure that everyone is comfortable and happy.
Josh understands that not everyone loves to have their photo taken and some kids are resistant at first. Not to worry, he encourages parents not to make a big deal of the photo session with their kids. Let them know that it will be enjoyable and that they will have opportunities to have some fun photos taken, which THEY will like. Don’t put extra pressure on them to behave in a certain way, as it is best to let kids be kids.
Josh wants the process to be fun for kids and he’ll talk with them to make sure they feel involved. As he interacts and shoots, kids will naturally start to open up and enjoy the process, which results in images that are natural and full of emotion.
After the Family Photo Session
After the family photography session, Josh has a post-processing workflow to edit and retouch your images. His detailed workflow includes individual cropping, color correcting and retouching images.
He re-touches each image in his signature style to ensure quality control and to produce a consistency throughout. Your images will be ready within a few weeks of your shoot.
Josh can then go through the photos with you and help decide what you want to print.
He also makes it easy for you to share your images with friends and family by providing an online gallery. You can share the online gallery with whomever you choose.
